Senior AccountantLocation: Piscataway, NJ (Onsite)Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee full-cycle accounting, multi-state payroll, client billing, financial reporting, and cash flow management for a specialized staffing company. This role works closely with executive leadership and supervises AR/AP staff to ensure accurate financial operations and strong working capital management.Key ResponsibilitiesManage month-end close, general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and executive financial reporting.Process high-volume, multi-state contractor payroll and client invoicing.Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable functions.Ensure compliance with US GAAP, payroll tax requirements, workers' compensation, and regulatory filings.Assist with year-end audits, tax preparation, and insurance audits.Improve accounting, payroll, and timekeeping processes and system integrations.Supervise, mentor, and review the work of AR/AP staff.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.4+ years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and general ledger management.Prior supervisory experience managing accounting support staff.Experience with payroll, billing, and accounting operations in a staffing environment strongly preferred.Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting and payroll systems.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.CPA or CMA designation/candidacy is a plus.Preferred ExperienceStaffing and recruiting industry experience.Multi-state payroll and tax compliance.Experience working directly with senior executives.Familiarity with oil & gas or energy sector clients is a plus.
