Job Summary

Senior Associate Director, Marketing Systems and Automation owns Booth's marketing automation strategy and execution and works across Booth marketing and across the school to roll out automation that improves efficiency. This role centers on Executive Education, with additional time supporting Booth Marketing's broader initiatives. The role supports all aspects of MarTech Stack, including but not limited to Marketo, Salesforce, Workfront and related systems' databases for Booth Marketing, automates campaign execution, from emails to list segmentation, lead workflow, lead scoring, email infrastructure, nurturing streams, landing pages, website functionality, stage-gate forms, and forecasting report development. Expertise in this role will be used to oversee system training initiatives to ensure system reports accurately reflect business activities. This role works closely with the Marketing Operations team to roll out any new marketing automation initiatives including modernization and change management of the project management systems, agentic builds and integrations with modern systems, roll out of marketing collaboration platforms, among others.

This position will focus on maintaining and enhancing marketing systems, while providing coaching and team support to colleagues. This role requires a self-starter who understands business acumen, keeps an eye on overall business objectives, understands AI frameworks and agentic workflows, and works well across cross-functional teams, partners, and vendors. The role blends marketing strategy with operational oversight to manage marketing tech effectively for strategic execution. As marketing automation matures across the broader organization, this role will extend its systems expertise to support automation for centers and partners where necessary, tie data infrastructure to systems and processes, help unify platforms and best practices across business units.

Responsibilities

• Administers and optimizes Salesforce and Marketo, including ongoing system management, data quality, and data cleansing.
• Builds and manages data frameworks that enable audience segmentation, personalized content, and targeted messaging.
• Develops training materials and leads user training to support system adoption, change management, and new process rollouts.
• Leads change management for technology consolidation and new platform implementations, partnering with IT on security, backend configuration, documentation, and rollout readiness.
• Partners with research, data science, and marketing operations teams to deliver real-time reporting and insights on lead generation, geographic trends, campaign effectiveness, and related decision-making needs.
• Identifies and implements opportunities for marketing and operational automation, including personalization, triggered communications, task routing, database cleansing, QA processes, and digitally enabled workflows.
• Extends and standardizes marketing automation frameworks; leads scoring models, database governance, automation logic, naming conventions, and reporting structures across the MarTech ecosystem.
• Supports the evaluation and rollout of AI-powered tools across the marketing technology stack, including predictive lead scoring, machine-driven personalization, and workflow automation to improve performance and efficiency.
• Defines integration requirements across platforms, technologies, and data domains, and designs technical solutions that connect them into a cohesive digital ecosystem.
• Serves as a mentor and subject matter resource for other marketing systems administrators while exploring emerging digital technologies and translating innovation opportunities into actionable project plans.
• Leads one or more of the following marketing functions: marketing communications and advertising, web blogs or other digital marketing, and market research. Reviews and updates marketing infrastructure which may include one or more database systems, the intranet, and external web sites.
• Manages relationships with external sales agencies.
• Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s degree.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

• Relevant Salesforce professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Marketo or comparable marketing automation platforms, with demonstrated success implementing marketing enablement, automation, and journey orchestration initiatives, required, preferably in higher education.
• Background with operational technology, automation tools, AI frameworks, and agentic AI workflows, including familiarity with AI-powered marketing capabilities such as predictive analytics, generative content, personalization, and lead scoring.
• Strong expertise in web technologies, digital platforms, and IT processes; working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Strong understanding of content tagging, personalization strategies, customer journey mapping, and scalable automation program design across multiple teams or business units.
• Familiarity with data visualization or BI tools such as Tableau is a plus, along with flexibility to work hours as needed to meet business demands.

• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the judgment to translate insights into practical, actionable solutions independently.

• Work both independently as an individual contributor and collaboratively within cross-functional teams to align stakeholders around automation strategies and execution.
• Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
