Associate Scientist

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Associate Scientist to lead chemical process scale-up and manufacturing campaigns in the New Brunswick Kilo Lab. The role involves translating laboratory-developed processes into safe, robust operations supporting GMP active drug substance production across various drug modalities.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and scale-up of chemical processes from development laboratory into Kilo Lab for clinical and GMP manufacturing support
• Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing campaigns including equipment setup, material planning, process safety review, recipe development, and batch execution
• Apply scientific and engineering principles to identify and resolve technical challenges during process scale-up and manufacturing
• Monitor process performance, document observations and deviations, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional chemists, engineers, and analytical scientists to translate laboratory processes into robust manufacturing operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific/engineering discipline
• 1–3 years of experience in laboratory, process development, scale-up, or manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to apply scientific and technical principles to process development and manufacturing
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Hands-on capability with chemical processing equipment and manufacturing operations
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
