Staffing:

• Day Shift Charge: 1
• Registered Nurses (RNs): 4-5
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs): 2-3
• Night Shift Charge: 1
• Registered Nurses (RNs): 4-5
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs): 2

Equipment and Technology

Primary equipment includes:

• Tele monitoring
• Post-operative monitoring

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech / CPN

Hiring Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year of current acute care hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• BLS & ACLS certifications

Preferred Skills:

• Cardiac experience
• Prior Meditech experience

Typical Procedures Performed

• Post-operative recovery of surgical patients and those from the cath lab
• Post-operative orthopedic patients (spine and joint surgeries)

• Elective orthopedic, spine, and gynecological surgeries
• Elective catheterization lab procedures (post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, revascularization)
• Stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure patients

Scheduling

The unit practices a modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted three weeks in advance, allowing ample time for adjustments and trades.
