Accounts Payable Specialist – Temp-to-Hire

Location: Pasadena, TX 77503
Pay: $25–$27/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Work Arrangement: On-site during training, then hybrid
Type: Temp-to-Hire

Professional Alternatives is partnering with a well-established company in Pasadena to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for someone with solid AP experience who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment and enjoys being part of a collaborative, easygoing team.

Responsibilities

• Process approximately 50–60 vendor invoices per day
• Process both PO and non-PO invoices
• Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices
• Review invoices for accuracy, proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
• Resolve invoice and payment issues with vendors and internal departments
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure invoices are processed timely
• Communicate with internal teams to obtain approvals and resolve outstanding issues
• Assist with other AP-related duties as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent Accounts Payable experience
• Experience processing a high volume of invoices
• Strong understanding of PO/non-PO invoices and 3-way matching
• Experience with vendor statement reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to research discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
• Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a team environment
• Strong communication and follow-up skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sage X3 or a similar ERP system
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Work Environment

The position will be fully on-site for the first 2+ months while training and learning the business. Once training is successfully completed, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule, typically Monday and Friday remote , based on performance and business needs.
