Transportation Technical Lead

Akron, OH Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 Full-Time, Permanent

Integrity Technical Services, Inc. is assisting an Akron, Ohio area Engineering Firm that seeks to hire an experienced Transportation Technical Lead / Civil Engineer to plan and coordinate projects, serve as a senior technical advisor on projects of particular complexity, assist the project manager, and serve as the technical lead and main point of contact with clients, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for active transportation, trails, roadways, sidewalks, and green/complete street initiatives across Ohio.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets for local public agency (LPA), non-LPA, and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) projects.
• Train, mentor, and guide junior engineering technical associates, planners, and construction teams.
• Execute and supervise complex planning, design grade analysis, and plan production.
• Act as the primary technical liaison, cultivating long-term relationships with municipal and state clients.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal design and engineering standards, specifications, and standard drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in civil transportation engineering or municipal planning.
• Background in trail and/or multi-modal transportation design is highly preferred (or a strong professional motivation to learn this specialty).
• Hands-on experience with CAD platforms (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA), or AICP certification is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record for occasional local day travel.
