Job DescriptionThe Fleet Mechanic plays a vital role within a small team of 1-5 mechanics, responsible for maintaining and repairing a mixed fleet of trucks, vans, and small gas engines. Reporting directly to the Shop Supervisor, this role ensures all vehicles operate safely and efficiently through precise diagnostics, preventive care, and timely repairs. Occasional travel may be required to service vehicles as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and repairs across a mixed fleet
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized tools
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Replace worn or faulty parts promptly
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Strong skills in preventative maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools
- Knowledge of safety compliance standards
