Our client is a privately held metal fabrication and precision manufacturing company headquartered in Byron Center, Michigan. Founded in 2002, the company specializes in laser cutting, metal forming, fabrication, welding, assembly, engineering support, and finishing services for a wide range of industries. They have a great culture where they provide lunch on Thursdays and various food trucks in the summer.

Brake Press Operator Details:
- Temp-to-Hire position
- $ 21.00 to $ 26.00 / hour
- Full Time work available
- Various shifts available (Monday through Friday)
- 1st Shift is 5am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Occasional 5 hour shift on Saturday.
- 2nd Shift is 1pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday. Occasional 5 hour shift on Saturday.
- Pay is dependent on experience.
- Set up and operate Brake Press machine to bend, form, and shape metal according to blueprints and customer specifications.
- Perform quality checks using precise measuring instruments including; calipers, micrometers, protractors and other measuring tools as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment and programming in order to identify and correct root cause of non-conforming parts.
- Increase production efficiency by reducing set-up time, optimizing machine usage, and maintaining quality.
- Complete necessary training and certification to operate hi-lo equipment safely and efficiently as needed to perform job duties.
Brake Press Operator Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in metal fabrication and/or Brake Press operation.
- Ability to read/write/speak in English
- Ability to stand throughout entire shift with frequent bending and twisting.
- Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally.
- Math skills that include ability to perform calculations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
- Pre-employment drug screen (Excluding THC) is required as a condition of employment
