Bus Shop Mechanic
Location: Central Office
Qualifications:
- Must have high school diploma or GED Equivalent
- Must have or obtain a LA commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Two (2) years of mechanic experience preferred
Job Duties:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair gas and diesel vehicles; including damaged mechanical body and interior bus parts
- Ensure that the buses meet federal, state, and local safety requirements
- Inspect school buses and sign forms indicating compliance with state requirements provided by law
- Perform prescribed maintenance program of the bus fleet as implemented by the Transportation Supervisor or designee
- Maintain and complete work orders with work completed and parts used to repair or maintain vehicles assigned
- Assist with accidents when needed
- Perform related duties/responsibilities as required by the transportation supervisor or designee
