Grades Teacher (1-8)

The Austin Waldorf School is seeking warm and enthusiastic Grades Teachers to join our faculty. We are looking for experienced, certified educators with a proven ability to teach across the grade school years (Grades 1–8) and a desire to contribute meaningfully to our vibrant Waldorf community.

AWS has an outstanding faculty that fosters a spirit of collaboration and innovation and is deeply committed to Waldorf pedagogy and anthroposophy. Our program includes music, choir, strings and orchestra, handwork, arts, woodwork, as well as Spanish and German.

Salary : Waldorf Trained, minimum: $54,811, annualized

Non-Waldorf Trained, minimum: $49,330, annualized

Salary offered to the successful candidate depends on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Grades Teacher, guiding and teaching students through the academic, social, and artistic curriculum
• Create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment rooted in Waldorf pedagogy
• Support and participate in seasonal festivals, class plays, and community events
• Participate in weekly faculty and grade-level meetings
• Contribute to parent meetings and curricular presentations
• Collaborate with student support services and colleagues
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, guardians, and fellow faculty

Qualifications

• Waldorf teacher training or certification (required or in progress)
• Bachelor’s degree (required; Master’s degree preferred)
• Demonstrated success teaching elementary or middle school students
• Commitment to Waldorf principles and philosophy
