Solutions Architect/Technical Product Owner

Our Midwest retail client is looking to add a Solutions Architect/Technical Product Owner to their Tech for Tech Value Stream team. Best suited candidates are those with a successful and proven Azure/.NET technical background and enterprise level soft skills.

Job Duties

• Typically part of the solution development team, the solution architect is responsible for translating the requirements created by functional analysts into the architecture for that solution and describing it through the set of architecture and design artifacts. Those artifacts are then used by the rest of the development team to implement the solution.
• The process of defining architecture by the solution architect often involves selection of the most appropriate technology for the problem being solved. The candidate should feel comfortable with defining and planning work for development teams.
• The candidate should have SAFe experience or relevant Agile experience and feel comfortable leading backlog refinement sessions and demoing the work completed by the development team to a larger audience.
• The candidate should have an Azure/.NET background. They will need to understand on-prem applications. Function apps/logic apps experience is preferred.
• MUST HAVE: The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative in scoping out work for their development team. The candidate is organized, able to present/communicate in front of larger groups, able to collaborate with other teams.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years delivering technical solutions
• 3+ years in a large Agile setting
• Considered a subject matter expert in Azure/.NET solutions:
• Experience with Cosmos DB, Confluent Kafka on the cluster to redesign to move to Azure, event streaming architecture or relevant experience.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills collaborating with tech, business, and senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges; strong analytical skills
• Successfully prioritizing stories, understanding all services and features, and driving to success.
• Ability to balance visionary long-term technical design against the MVP concept to enable delivering incremental value.
• Ability to write technical stories with understanding of back end processes.
• Experience capturing, documenting, and coordinating acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements within a team and across partner areas.
• Azure DevOps or a similar tool (like Jira) experience.
• SAFe experience or relevant Agile experience.
