Job Description The Director, Wholesale Fuels Development is responsible for acquiring new wholesale fuel dealer accounts, commercial fuel accounts, affiliated franchisee accounts, and wholesale fuel marketer acquisitions. The Director also works with CKWF Director Operations & Dealer Business Managers on reseller renewals and conducts in‑depth analysis of new business deals, acquisitions, and presents proposals to senior management. This role directs staff activities related to procurement, distribution, wholesale margin proforma, and marketing of fuels across the Continental U.S., serving as the primary liaison for all branded and unbranded supply relationships and managing new supply contracts tied to CKWF volume. Essential Job Functions Develop new wholesale dealer customers and expand the existing wholesale customer base. Secure wholesale marketer acquisitions and manage affiliated franchisee fuel business. Acquire new commercial fuel customers. Complete required analyses and documentation for new business acquisitions. Analyze profit‑and‑loss reports and fuel financial and sales data. Act as the liaison between the company and new customers regarding fuel sales and branding. Ensure completion of new and renewal contracts in accordance with PMPA, dealer, and commercial fuel agreements. Maintain knowledge of brand requirements related to site image and procedures and coordinate brand imaging for new accounts. Achieve fuel margin plan targets, grow the customer base, and develop pricing strategies. Manage pricing strategies and execution to maintain disciplined pricing at new sites and product levels. Fulfill supply contract obligations to recover optimal incentives. Develop and manage fuel strategies—including supply relationships, carrier relationships, and major brand marketing programs—on a site‑by‑site and customer basis. Set up and maintain required system inputs to pricing systems and other IT support systems. Recruit, develop, and train a high‑performance fuel team. Negotiate with suppliers, carriers, and terminal/pipeline operators for optimal contracts and performance. Coordinate fuel objectives with other department initiatives to optimize fuel site performance. Monitor supply situations and collaborate with dispatch, suppliers, and carriers to minimize delivery disruptions. Recommend capital improvements to enhance fuel contribution. Oversee payment system initiatives, including fleet card sales and administration. Maintain pricing policies that eliminate risks under PMPA and franchise law. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software. Hands‑on people management, development, and team‑building experience. 5+ years of commercial experience in new business development, preferably in a related service industry. Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. Excellent customer service and problem‑solving skills. Detail oriented, independent worker who can travel extensively for new business and trade shows. Valid driver's license. Capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines. Experience managing fuel strategies inclusive of supply relationships, carrier contacts, and marketing programs. Profile Requirements Demonstrated expertise in fuel management, pricing models, wholesale & retail contracts, negotiation, payment systems, marketing, and product distribution. Advanced managerial and leadership skills with strong analytical abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aptitude for developing and understanding additional software tools. Education Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, marketing, sciences, environmental studies, or engineering (asset). MBA (asset). Physical Demands Regularly sit, talk, and/or hear. Use hands for handling items of varying weight. Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with both hands and arms. Lift and carry up to 40 pounds from ground to waist level for up to 30 minutes per workday. Push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds. Drive 75% of time, unassisted, for periods up to 8 hours. Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $140,000 – $190,000 with up to 25% annual bonus.
