Terminate wiring and equipment in accordance with electrical codes, manufacturer specifications, and job requirements.
Connect power cables to disconnects, panel boards, inverters, motors, and transformers following manufacturer specifications and permitted drawings.
Prepare or interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints to determine the location of wiring, equipment, and devices, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and floors are completed.
Test continuity, voltage, and overall circuit integrity using instruments such as amp probes, clamp meters, and voltage meters to verify electrical compatibility and safety.
Observe the operation of installed equipment and systems to identify hazards, performance issues, or the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Install all solar-related AC and DC electrical components in accordance with project plans and applicable codes.
Install solar modules and racking systems per plans, ensuring proper alignment, structural integrity, and electrical connections.
Run and support conduit (including EMT and liquid-tight) in accordance with recommended support distances and code requirements.
Perform conduit bending using appropriate tools and methods to maintain proper bend allowances and minimize the need for additional pull points.
Install and terminate transformers, including three-phase delta primary to three-phase secondary transformers, following proper lug labeling and orientation.
Assist with generator installations, including line and load connections, miscellaneous power requirements, and communication/control wiring.
Install and orient current transformers (CTs) correctly by following arrows indicating current flow and maintaining consistent orientation and terminations.
Use appropriate fittings and sealing compounds in hazardous locations to help prevent explosions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Pull, route, and secure electrical wiring and low-voltage cabling as required for project completion.
Essential Skills
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a commercial electrician.
Strong knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations, including proper terminations, conductor identification, and code-compliant installations.
Ability to install, terminate, and test electrical systems, including panel boards, disconnects, inverters, motors, and transformers.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, and sketches to determine wiring layouts and equipment locations.
Experience installing solar-related AC and DC electrical components, including solar modules and racking systems.
Skilled in using electrical test instruments such as amp probes, clamp meters, and voltage meters to verify continuity, voltage, and system performance.
Ability to run, bend, and support conduit (including EMT and liquid-tight) while adhering to proper support distances and bend allowances.
Understanding of three-phase systems, including 277/480V and 120/240V three-phase wiring color codes.
Knowledge of high-leg delta systems, including voltage and conductor identification.
Experience with current transformers (CTs), including correct orientation and terminal connections.
Familiarity with generator installation requirements, including line/load considerations and control/communication wiring.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Comfort working with low-voltage systems and controls alongside standard power distribution.
Ability to plan installations to minimize material waste and maximize efficiency.
Strong problem-solving skills for identifying and correcting electrical hazards or performance issues.
Capability to work independently and as part of a team on commercial and solar projects.
