Transmission Planning Senior Manager

In this job you’ll lead and support a team setting direction, managing workloads and performance, providing mentorship, training, and development. You’ll deliver accurate project status reports, manage resource assessment and allocation, and coordinate across internal departments, enterprise stakeholders, government agencies, and external partners to maintain effective working partnerships. Responsibilities Develop designs to strengthen and modernize the grid as well as strategically plan around site specific challenges for new customer service requests. Oversee proposed construction project plans and blueprints from external entities (cities, developers, etc.) to mediate conflict with transmission facilities and right of ways. Provide design engineering, cost estimates, and project management activities for overhead and underground, transmission, sub‑transmission, and distribution systems. Design deteriorated transmission pole replacements, asset decommissioning projects, and maintenance work. Ensure a schedule management plan is in place and weekly interface with others inside or outside of the company. Lead and guide multidisciplinary teams during the design, construction, and operations of infrastructure projects relative to regulatory requirements, environmental due diligence, and planning. Create and monitor business unit budget and direct activities to correct variances. Oversee the development of critical‑path schedules for day‑to‑day maintenance activities such as maintenance outages. Protect all physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets and properly manage private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management. Experience in electrical utility distribution, transmission or telecom design or line construction. Possess a valid Class C Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of construction standards, transmission design standards, or G.O. 95/128/165/131E standards. Experience preparing and reviewing work orders or construction plans on projects using construction, engineering, and design practices and procedures. Experience developing strategic plans to support customer satisfaction, workflow processes, allocation of resources, and department operations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and programs such as DM, GeoView, and Click Schedule. Bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering or related field. Additional Information This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The primary work location for this position is Covina. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work location. Position will require up to 40% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.
