Experienced Registered Nurse - A4S - Inpatient GI/Colorectal

Compliance - Patient Services Staff Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain regulatory compliance in the department and hospital. Monitor safety and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled timely. Work with department managers, nurse council, and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Maintain awareness of CCHMC processes, CMS standards compliance, and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to the leadership team. Use systems thinking to see patient and family within the unit’s environment and act as a key resource supporting families through the healthcare experience via care coordination. Make clinical judgments by collecting data, following algorithms, decision trees, and protocols, and matching formal knowledge with clinical events to make appropriate decisions. Document care plans, care delivered, and patient/family outcomes, anticipating future needs and maintaining a safe physical environment. Integrate age‑specific concepts into care, considering both chronological age and developmental functioning. Develop care goals and actions through partnerships with patients and families, facilitate learning by providing structured education, and use teach‑back to evaluate effectiveness. Follow standards and guidelines, implement research‑based practices, and conduct self‑appraisals, peer reviews, and annual goal setting for professional development and competency assurance. Demonstrate openness to coaching, mentor others, and assist in peer and student learning. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, participate in shared governance at the point of care, and contribute to shared decision making in team meetings and discussions. Demonstrate consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) and advocate for patients and families, assessing personal values, addressing ethical conflicts, and ensuring patient rights and cultural inclusion are respected throughout care. Qualifications Associate or Diploma prepared RN from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institution; 2+ years of experience required. If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within one year of hire and complete the program within five years. Preferred: BSN or MSN from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institution. Active Ohio RN License. Other state licensure may be required. Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates.
