Position Overview

We're seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to build and lead LightSpeed's finance organization during a period of rapid growth. As the company's senior finance leader, you will own accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, forecasting and modeling, cash and treasury management, and financing strategy—including equipment and debt financing—while building the scalable financial infrastructure needed to support a capital-intensive robotics business.

This is not a large-company finance role. You'll partner directly with the CEO and executive team on strategic planning, fundraising, board reporting, and capital allocation, helping scale the business from early growth to widespread deployment of our robotics platform.

What you'll work on:

Build & Lead the Finance Function

• Build and lead the finance organization, establishing scalable accounting processes, financial systems, internal controls, and reporting infrastructure.

• Recruit, develop, and mentor the finance team as the company grows.

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Own all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and month-end and year-end close.

• Ensure timely, accurate GAAP financial reporting and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and business processes to support a rapidly scaling organization.

FP&A & Strategic Finance

• Own the company's financial model, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.

• Deliver decision-ready financial reporting, KPIs, and board materials that translate operational performance into business insights.

• Partner directly with the CEO on strategic planning, fundraising, investor diligence, board communications, and capital allocation decisions.

Treasury, Cash Management & Capital Strategy

• Lead cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and liquidity planning to ensure the business is well-capitalized through growth.

• Manage banking relationships and negotiate debt facilities, equipment financing, leasing structures, and other capital solutions.

• Develop financing strategies that support the deployment and scaling of LightSpeed's robotics platform and manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including ownership of a company's finance function (Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent scope).

• Strong foundation in accounting operations, financial reporting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), financial modeling, and cash management.

• Experience building financial models, managing budgets and forecasts, and delivering accurate financial reporting and business insights.

• Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and support strategic decision-making through data-driven financial analysis.

• Hands-on operator who can build scalable finance processes and infrastructure while serving as the senior-most finance leader in the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in venture-backed, high-growth companies, particularly within robotics, manufacturing, industrial technology, hardware, or other capital-intensive environments.

• Experience supporting board reporting, investor communications, fundraising processes, and investor diligence.

• Familiarity with debt financing, equipment leasing, asset-backed financing, or other capital structures.

• Experience scaling finance organizations and building teams from the ground up.

• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
