Engineer II, Clinical Development

Responsibilities Support the design, development, and optimization of medical technologies and translate engineering concepts into practical solutions. Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, clinical, and manufacturing teams to drive product development initiatives and continuous improvement. Apply engineering principles and analytical thinking to solve complex problems, enhance product performance, and contribute to safe and effective therapies. Design, test, and improve clinical procedures by developing experiments and tests, writing protocols, analyzing results, and reporting findings. Create moderate‑complex clinical design inputs, test methods, drawings, prototypes, and specifications. Provide support to interns and technicians, train them on bench‑top setups, conduct tests, and coordinate their work. Generate design inputs for clinical findings and analysis, and support documentation such as requirement specifications, risk documents, and design control records. Build and maintain relationships with outside vendors, key opinion leaders, and clinicians to drive project objectives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Scientific field with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or a Scientific field, or internship/senior projects or thesis experience. On‑site availability in Irvine, Ca, full time with up to 25% travel nationwide. Preferred Skills Proficiency with MS Office Suite and CAD tools. Strong documentation, written and verbal communication, and consultative relationship management skills. Understanding of statistical techniques for experimental test method development. Experience with lab and industrial equipment, imaging platforms, and clinical imaging. Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, pathology, physiology, and hospital equipment. Ability to develop solutions to moderate‑scope problems and improve clinical development processes. Additional Information Position is located in Irvine, Ca with travel up to 25% nationwide. Salary range is $87,000 to $123,000 for California. The role offers performance incentives and a comprehensive benefits program.
