Electric Distribution Operator

Position Type: Contract (12 months, with possibility of extension) Schedule: On-site, no remote - Rotating am and pm shifts, days off rotate If on-site Location of assignment: Richmond, VA, 23294 Pay Rate: $25/hr – $28/hr (W2)

High Level Project Overview

• This role is responsible for service restoration and distribution switching activities using extensive knowledge of electrical distribution systems including technical knowledge of operations and switching practices.
• Ensures all reporting is completed to keep management informed of system conditions, circuit outages, key and critical customer interruptions, emergency conditions and extended outages.
• Expected to complete the Switching Training Program to become ROC switching certified within (approximately) 12-16 months. Shift-oriented workforce.

The Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences That Are Required For Entry Into This Job Include:

• Preferred experience in dispatching, emergency services, complex database management and/or customer service.
• Understanding of the Electric Distribution System.
• Skills: Interpersonal; strong written and verbal communications; analytical; personal and mainframe computer applications.
• Abilities: Independent and sound problem resolution; multitasking; prioritizing constantly changing and emerging conditions; leadership abilities.
• To meet operational business needs, selected candidates must be available and committed to working a flexible 24/7 shift schedule as well as overtime and storm callouts.

Education

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED
