Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Location: Willow Tree Care Center, Delta, CO. Pay Rate: $27/hr – $38/hr DOE. Full, part‑time & PRN available. Job Overview The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance level and use skills learned to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities. Responsibilities Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OTR) assist in carrying out treatment plans. Provide consultations in environmental design, adaptive equipment, proper positioning to prevent contractures and splinting. Instruct patients in adapted techniques and use of adaptive equipment for meal preparation, home management, dressing, feeding, and other self‑care skills. Train patients in upper‑extremity prosthetic devices to resume previous daily routines. Provide therapy for neurological integration; administer sensor‑motor integration treatment techniques and visual perceptual‑motor remediation programs. Use activities to increase developmental levels of patients. Design and provide individualized therapy for adult learning‑disabled patients. Design and fabricate splints as prescribed, slings and adaptive equipment to meet patient needs. Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instruct patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss and transfer and visual field deficits. Instruct patients’ families in personal care for patients, especially proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain. Provide activities to assess patients’ organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, coordination (fine and gross‑motor), and adaptive‑equipment needs. Make independent decisions and solve practical problems. Work independently with integrity, flexibility, and cooperatively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Comply with community policies and procedures for workplace safety, infection control, emergency response, and safety protocol. Comply with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights and confidentiality (HIPAA). Demonstrate knowledge of Employee Handbook and compliance with its policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association. Strong customer service orientation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to use tools for making adaptive equipment. Good written and spoken English sufficient to fulfill job requirements.
