Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists. Schedule: 38 hours per week, Monday–Friday. Schedule varies based on clinic needs and provider assignments. Must be available to work 4–5 days per week and flexible for shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This is not a fixed schedule. Responsibilities Essential Functions Rooming patients and documents all vital information Scribing information for the dermatologist Providing post op wound care to patients Drawing blood and suture removal Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms Scheduling patient appointments Procedures Surgical photographs Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave Excisions Electrodessication and curettage I&D Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery Phototherapy Injections Koh preps Trichograms Tzank preps Dermabrasion Patch testing Blue light Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent Post High School Education Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems Must possess organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team Forefront Dermatology is committed to providing equal employment opportunity and maintaining a workplace for employees and applicants that is free from discrimination based upon age, race, religion, color, disability, marital status, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, veteran or military status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
