Registered Nurse Emergency Room

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care, patient assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning for acute and emergent patients. This role involves collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will manage a patient load typically at a ratio of 1 RN to 4 patients, ensuring timely and effective interventions to support patient outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient status in the ER setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide emergency care and respond promptly to patient needs and changes in condition.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control and hospital policies.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning as appropriate.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably including ER or acute care.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for field work if applicable.

• Experience in emergency nursing or critical care settings.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration in acute care environments.

• No on-call requirement.
• Weekend work required, typically every other weekend.
• Approved for 48-hour shifts.
• Float between units is not required.
• Patient ratio typically 1 RN to 4 patients.

• Work schedule includes weekend shifts, typically every other weekend.
• Shift length may include 48-hour shifts as approved.
• Block schedules status is unknown.
