Director, Epidemiology & Methodological Innovation

Ambry Genetics

Tempus seeks a Director of Epidemiology & Methodological Innovation to lead real-world evidence research and develop novel epidemiological methods for biopharma partners. The role combines outcomes research with data science to generate regulatory-grade insights that accelerate drug development.

Responsibilities

Lead development of novel real-world evidence approaches including external control arms and causal inference methods
Design and oversee end-to-end retrospective database analyses and study protocols
Serve as subject matter expert for biopharma clients on first-in-kind study designs
Contribute to scientific community through publications and conference presentations at ISPOR, ISPE, ASCO
Partner with account and business development teams to identify novel methodology applications for client challenges

Requirements

PhD or PharmD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or related quantitative field
7+ years HEOR/RWE experience with at least 3 years in leadership
Deep expertise in oncology
Advanced proficiency in R or SAS programming
Proven track record developing advanced methods like target trial emulation or propensity score applications
Experience with real-world data sources: EHR, claims, and genomic data
Ability to translate complex methodologies into clear strategic guidance for executives

Compensation: $170,000-$230,000 (Chicago/Illinois); $180,000-$250,000 (New York/San Francisco)
