This full-time opportunity at Valle Vista offers  40 hours   per week, full   benefits, and a  3:00 pm to 11:30  pm   schedule providing care on our adolescent unit.  There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.

Position Summary:  

 

Mental Health Technicians provide direct care and supervision for residents, assure residents are kept safe, learn and practice   appropriate hygiene   and self-help skills, and are aware of rules and expectations. Act as a role model for residents,   demonstrating   effective problem solving and decision-making skills.   Assist   in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Perform duties as assigned   in accordance with   the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. Mental Health Technicians report to the Unit Coordinator under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.  

 

Job Duties:   

  • Monitoring and intervening with patients for safety  
  • Ensuring structured therapeutic milieu  
  • Role models problem solving and healthy relationship skills

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:  

 

Education : High   school diploma or equivalent required.   Bachelor's degree in psychology   or related field preferred.  

 

Experience : Six   months to one year of experience working with a behavioral health in-patient population preferred.  

 

Additional Requirements :   M ust   be at least 21 years of age.  

 

Work Hours:    Evenings 3:00p – 11:30p  

 

Unit:  Adolescent - Youth
