Gastroenterology Associates, PC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team to help drive patient success in our community. This position is available on a PRN basis Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm at our office in Warrenton, VA and offers a great work‑life balance with no nights or weekends required. What You Will Do Mostly clerical work with some patient interaction via phone only. Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable. Obtain, verify, and record patients' health histories. Assist the physician with office visits and be able to assist in emergencies. Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by the physician. Answer patient questions and notify patients of test results. Review procedure reports to ensure patients have hospital orders and needed clearances have been received. Escort patients to exam rooms and throughout the office as needed. Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines. Prepare examination rooms, including cleaning and restocking supplies. Assist with dressing and undressing of patients as needed. Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as directed by the physician, verifying dosage. Perform phlebotomy for lab work and complete required forms. Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x‑rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions, and appointments as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required. Previous experience in a medical office environment preferred. Basic Life Support Certification required. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
