About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pain Management Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in the related nursing specialty preferred License: Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact state license Certifications: BLS Certification required. ACLS Certification required. Must-Have: Experience in pain procedures, pre-op, OR, and PACU required. Weekend and on-call requirement. Floating requirement. Description: The competent nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care. Has the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: leader of self, leader of others, or leader of leaders. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources.
