Registered Nurse/LPN

Perform physical examinations and establish medical history to determine donor suitability Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction Ensure donor and staff confidentiality Provide donor awareness regarding potential hazards Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel donors regarding unacceptable test results Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events Perform evaluations of illness or medication history to ensure continued donor suitability Assist in employee training Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program Requirements Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse Current CPR certification required Spanish bilingual required Ability to stand and sit for 2 to 4 hours per day each Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day Frequent hand and finger movement with precise coordination to grasp and manipulate objects Ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels occasionally Light lifting of 15 pounds, with a maximum lift of 50 pounds Hearing acuity essential Correctable near and far vision requirements Ability to communicate and understand spoken and written information Ability to work independently while following oral or written instructions Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups Ability to work with biological fluids and potential infectious organisms Ability to work with electrical office and laboratory equipment Ability to work in extreme cold below 32°F while using plasma freezers Must use protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing physical examinations, evaluating donor suitability, and providing education on health and safety.
