Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

This position involves providing respiratory therapy in a fast-paced environment. The facility has a total of 240 beds with a dedicated team of 15 respiratory therapists. Typical patient ratios are 30-40 patients per shift. Key responsibilities include administering treatments and setting up ventilators. Assisting with intubations and performing arterial blood gas (ABG) tests is essential. Patient and staff education is also a critical component of the role. The respiratory therapist will perform all RT therapies across various departments, including emergency, pediatric, ICU, NICU, and medical-surgical units. Candidates must possess a comprehensive skill set with a minimum of 6 months current acute care hospital experience. Collaboration and being a team player are vital for success in this position. Flexibility in scheduling is offered to meet the needs of the staff and patients. The role is significant in both the neonatal and intensive care units, particularly in therapy and ventilator liberation. A degree of autonomy is expected in daily responsibilities.
