Job Summary:
The location is in Oregon City, Oregon. This Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse position involves providing care for obstetric patients in a short-term acute care facility. The role requires working night shifts in a Level II maternity unit with a Level I nursery, managing low-risk and high-risk deliveries, and supporting neonatal and maternal care in accordance with AWHONN staffing standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, certification in AWHONN Advanced, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE. Valid Oregon nursing license or pending license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital settings, Level I nursery experience, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required between units based on patient needs.
• Additional Information:
  • Will position float between units based on needs.
  • On-call requirement: Yes, with up to one on-call shift per two weeks during low census.
  • Weekend work: Yes, every other weekend.
  • Orientation: 72 hours.
  • Patient demographics include neonates and adults, with a daily census of 1-2 labors and 5-8 postpartum patients.
  • Unit has 14 beds, with equipment including resuscitation nurses and break nurses.
  • Candidates must have a vehicle for this assignment.
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day).
  • References: Two recent references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs).
  • Travel and scheduling policies apply; candidates should be flexible to float to nearby facilities if needed.
