Job Description

This role focuses on performing skilled sheet metal work in a field and/or shop environment, using trade knowledge to fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal components safely and efficiently. You will work a full-time schedule, primarily Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend shifts as needed. The position requires consistent adherence to safety standards, proper use of personal protective equipment, and collaboration with other trades and team members to complete projects on time and to specification.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal fabrication, installation, and repairs in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes.
• Use sheet metal tools and equipment safely and effectively to measure, cut, form, assemble, and install sheet metal components.
• Interpret drawings, layouts, and work instructions to plan and execute assigned tasks accurately.
• Work on-site during scheduled hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and support occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts when required.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate fall protection, harnesses, and other safety equipment when working at heights or in elevated areas.
• Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored and handled properly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks, report progress, and address issues or hazards promptly.
• Comply with all pre-employment and ongoing compliance requirements, including drug testing and driving record standards, as applicable.
• Support project timelines by working consistently through the assignment period and adapting to changing work priorities as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a sheet metal technician or sheet metal worker, with hands-on expertise in sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Journeyman-level qualification in sheet metal, demonstrating advanced trade knowledge and capability.
• Strong ability to work with sheet metal materials, including measuring, cutting, forming, and fitting components accurately.
• Knowledge of safe work practices related to sheet metal work, including working at heights and using fall protection equipment.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, layouts, and basic drawings relevant to sheet metal tasks.
• Capability to work full-time hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility for occasional weekend work.
• Willingness and ability to comply with pre-employment requirements, including a 10-panel instant drug test and motor vehicle record review.
• Reliable transportation and driving record that meets motor vehicle standards, with no disqualifying driving convictions.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including standing, lifting, climbing, and working in various field conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Current OSHA certification, with the ability to provide documentation along with the resume.
• Additional safety or trade-related certifications that demonstrate a commitment to safe and skilled work.
• Experience working on construction or industrial sites where fall protection and harness use are required.
• Familiarity with standard sheet metal tools, equipment, and techniques used in field and shop environments.
• Strong attention to detail and quality in fabrication and installation work.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a team setting.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment is essential: you must provide your own steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing, while harnesses and fall protection equipment are supplied. The setting emphasizes safety, adherence to OSHA standards, and consistent use of PPE, with a focus on maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
