Quality Assurance Manager - Food ManufacturingA food and dietary supplement manufacturer is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality assurance and quality control functions at one of its production sites. As a member of the site leadership team, you will develop, implement, and administer quality programs that ensure safety, integrity, and conformance with regulatory, corporate, site, and customer requirements, while integrating quality priorities into the plant's operational excellence process. You will work in collaboration with plant and company leadership to formulate and execute a strategic quality plan for the business.Full-time, on-site.$90,000 - $115,000 per yearWhat You'll DoYou will manage the CAPA program, including customer complaints, vendor complaints, holds, and site audit nonconformance programs, along with the root cause analysis behind them. You will own change control and portions of the commercialization process, and provide leadership to develop and implement food safety, preventive controls, and prerequisite programs such as HACCP/HARPC, pest control, recall, allergen, sanitation, and environmental monitoring.A core part of the role is maintaining customer quality satisfaction through programs that control raw materials, in-process materials, the production process, environmental conditions, and finished products. You will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including FDA, EPA, and OSHA requirements, as well as contracted third-party certifications such as GFSI, Kosher, Halal, and RSPO. You will conduct or coordinate customer, vendor, and third-party audits and regulatory inspections, and prepare and oversee customer site visits.You will lead the quality team in commercial product onboarding and trial reviews, specification creation, formula and label reviews, and inspection plans for raw, in-process, and finished materials. You will also collaborate with R&D, Production, and commercial teams to prepare new products, processes, and equipment for production, quantifying the probability of success and communicating risks and mitigations for first-time makes. The role includes managing departmental staffing, the management review process, budget and expenses, and capital projects, as well as developing your team through evaluations, training plans, and employee relations.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree4 or more years of functional leadership experience in food, dietary supplement, or a related industryExperience operating in an FDA-regulated environmentProject management and change management experienceExperience with a GFSI scheme such as SQF or BRCPCQI or HACCP certificationSolid working knowledge of FDA, HACCP, SQF, and industry best practicesExperience applying sanitation principles and Statistical Process Control (SPC) for process evaluation and improvementUS citizen or permanent resident (this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship)Preferred QualificationsExperience in dietary supplement manufacturing specificallySQF Practitioner certificationExperience with Kosher, Halal, or RSPO certification programsExperience leading commercialization or new product launch processesDemonstrated success driving quality KPIs such as First Pass Quality, complaint reduction, and CAPA closure effectivenessCompensation and BenefitsFull benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid time offRelocation assistance may be available for the right candidateSpecific benefit details to be confirmed with the employerTo apply, submit your resume through the application link.
