Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a community hospital Emergency Department treating an average of 40–50 patients per day, including minor injuries, major traumas, crush injuries, burns, STEMIs, and strokes
• Mix, titrate, and manage critical drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, and Insulin
• Read and interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs independently
• Manage respiratory equipment and perform respiratory treatments as needed, particularly during night hours when RT coverage expands to the full facility
• Maintain a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio within a 5-bed, 2-trauma-bay department; one of the two ED RNs per shift serves as charge nurse (travelers are not required to fill this role)
• Collaborate with ED physicians, ED techs, house supervisors, and ancillary staff to support patient throughput and EMS coordination

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in New Mexico (or compact state eligibility)
• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department experience; Trauma Level I or II ED experience accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated ability to mix and titrate critical drips independently
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to complete required facility onboarding modules (approximately 20 hours) prior to floor assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with industrial or occupational trauma cases such as crush injuries, burns, and amputations
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers also considered)
• Familiarity with EMS coordination and emergency department flow management
