Senior Machine Training Coordinator
A Medium Corporation
Job Summary The Senior Machine Training and Analytics Coordinator is a strategic, hands‑on partner responsible for building, sustaining, and continuously improving the technical capability of the Machine Department within a complex turbine engine component repair and overhaul environment. This role shall lead the design and execution of workforce development systems that enable machinists across CNC, manual machining, grinding, tool and die, R&D, and programming disciplines to develop skills, advance proficiency, and meet demanding quality, safety, and performance expectations. Through a blend of structured training, mentoring, and data‑driven insight, the position ensures the organization can reliably develop talent from entry‑level through advanced technical expertise. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Coordinator owns initiatives from concept through implementation and evaluation, collaborating closely with machinists, supervisors, engineers, production scheduling, and leadership to align training with operational needs. The role translates workforce data and shop performance trends into actionable development strategies while cultivating external partnerships with local high school and career‑technical programs to strengthen early talent pipelines. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure all training activities are conducted in alignment with company safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Own the strategy, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training and workforce development programs for the Machine Department, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of skilled machinists across CNC, manual machining, grinding, and tool and die disciplines. Lead the development of structured technical training frameworks, including department‑specific onboarding, on‑the‑job training, apprenticeship, and early‑career development, ensuring consistency, accountability, and measurable skill progression. Serve as a mentor, coach, and technical development partner to machinists, trainers, supervisors, and managers by guiding skill development, problem‑solving, and the practical use of data to improve shop performance. Partner with department leadership to identify skill gaps, assess workforce capability and rework trends, and create targeted training and cross‑training strategies that improve flexibility, quality, reliability, and operational resilience. Establish and maintain effective training governance, including standardized methods, curricula, competency models, training aids, documentation (including training slips), and compliance records to ensure accuracy, continuity, and effectiveness. Lead training analytics and reporting by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting training data, performance trends, and rework indicators to evaluate program effectiveness and drive data‑based improvement decisions. Translate training outcomes, workforce insights, and improvement recommendations into clear, actionable communication for leadership to support operational and strategic decision‑making. Build and manage external talent pathways and partnerships (e.g., vocational and career‑technical programs) to support early skills development, workforce readiness, and long‑term talent sustainability. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field such as learning and development, human resources, or organizational management. Minimum of three (3) years of work‑related experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of two (2) years of training experience in a manufacturing setting, with demonstrated experience in or working knowledge of the setup, operation, and administration of manufacturing‑based learning and development programs. Demonstrated proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and learning management systems (LMS) used in training and development environments. Other Qualifications Demonstrates a positive, energetic, and professional approach that fosters a strong training‑focused and continuous learning culture. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with entry‑level machinists and developing technical professionals. Previous experience serving as a mentor, coach, instructor, or trainer within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with shop math principles and basic trigonometry. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Work Environment This position has pre‑employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
