Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician

We areseeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for a locum tenensopportunity in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This position offers a combination ofonsite inpatient coverage and STEMI call responsibilities within a busycardiovascular program serving a diverse adult patient population. Position Details Practice Setting: Inpatient andCall Coverage Schedule: Onsite Coverage: Monday–Friday,7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Weekday Call: Monday–Friday,5:00 PM – 7:00 AM Weekend Call: Saturday 7:00AM – Monday 7:00 AM Weekend Coverage Required Call Coverage Required Clinical Responsibilities Provide inpatient interventionalcardiology coverage and consultations. Perform diagnostic andinterventional cardiovascular procedures. Respond to STEMI activations andother emergent cardiovascular conditions. Participate in a shared callrotation covering STEMI, unassigned call, and non-invasive cardiologycoverage. Conduct inpatient rounding asneeded. Collaborate with hospitalists,emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, and cardiovascular teammembers to ensure high-quality patient care. Complete timely and accuratedocumentation. Approximately 159 STEMIactivations were recorded in 2025, with a cancellation rate ofapproximately 47%. Physicians can expect more phoneconsultations than in-person callbacks. Emergent STEMI callbacks occurless than every other day on average.
