IT Business Analyst

BI Analyst / Engineer

Location: Phoenix, AZ - onsite (LOCAL ONLY FOR ONSITE CLIENT EVAL)

Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Gather and analyze business requirements for reporting and analytics
• Translate business needs into technical specifications
• Support decision-making through data-driven insights
• Work within Agile teams to deliver BI solutions
• Ensure alignment of reporting solutions with business goals
• Participate in requirement discussions and solution design
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in reporting
• Provide analytical support for business and regulatory needs
• Assist in defining data governance and reporting standards

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MicroStrategy dashboards and reports
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for analytics and reporting
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and validation tasks
• Monitor and maintain data quality checks and controls
• Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies and reporting issues
• Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency
• Work with BigQuery and PostgreSQL for data management
• Conduct performance tuning for queries and dashboards
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting delivery
• Collaborate with data engineers for data pipeline improvements
• Maintain documentation for reports, queries, and processes
• Support ongoing enhancements to BI systems and tools

Essential Skills:

• Advanced SQL expertise with strong command over complex queries
• Proficiency in CTEs and window functions
• Experience in query optimization and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with MicroStrategy dashboard development
• Strong knowledge of BigQuery and PostgreSQL
• Experience in regulatory reporting environments
• Expertise in Data Quality monitoring and validation
• Experience in automating manual reporting workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment
