Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our team as a Resource Nurse in a general medical surgical telemetry unit. This role supports quality patient care by efficiently utilizing resources and maintaining systems that empower staff to deliver excellent care. The position offers flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, within a vibrant healthcare environment serving a regional community in the Southeastern United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily patient assignments and collaborate closely with physicians during rounds.
• Serve as a primary contact for physicians and administrative staff, providing support and guidance to nursing personnel, nursing assistants, monitoring technicians, and unit secretaries.
• Assist with clinical procedures, verify orders, and conduct daily quality control and equipment checks on the unit.
• Evaluate patient acuity daily and support personnel performance assessments alongside the Primary Care Manager.
• Contribute to clinical education efforts in the absence of designated educators or preceptors.
• Maintain regular communication with patients and their families, ensuring a supportive care environment.
• Coordinate with care coordinators, discharge planners, patient placement teams, and nursing supervisors to optimize patient flow and care delivery.
• Implement innovative hospital processes and monitor staff performance related to patient satisfaction metrics.
• Carry a communication device to facilitate timely and effective interactions among leadership, physicians, and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with compact state licensure accepted.

Experience:

• Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience in a relevant setting.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective organizational, teaching, and leadership capabilities.
• Physical stamina for prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to safely handle exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
