Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Adults) with 2+ years acute/critical care experience and an active NV RRT license for a Level II trauma center in Reno, NV.

Details

• Respiratory Care Services department providing care to adult and general pediatric patients
• Level II trauma center with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds
• 3x12 rotating shifts with varied days and shift times
• Weekend, holiday, and some call shift requirements
• May float to other units per competency level
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active RRT credential required
• Nevada State RT License required (license required if applicable)
• Must apply for State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care license prior to start
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RT experience
• Recent critical care experience required
• Completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment within the past year required
• Epic EMR training available during orientation or candidates may test out

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders for patients ranging from newborn to geriatric
• Provide care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families
• Document patient records and department logs accurately
• Deliver positive patient experiences through consistent communication and service recovery practices
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during assignment
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Facility may cancel full or partial shifts with 48 hours notice for low census per 13-week contract
• Requested time off must be submitted with initial application
• A 13-week break is required between assignments for returning travelers
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
