Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering and R&D team. This role involves supporting product development efforts from concept through production release. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on design engineering, CAD ownership, prototype support, and manage engineering documentation.

• Participate in new product development from concept through production release.
• Conduct engineering calculations and design analysis.
• Engage in design reviews and drawing review processes.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and tooling teams.
• Manage revision control and product release processes.
• Utilize PDM systems for release management and engineering documentation.
• Support prototype development and testing activities.
• Create production-ready drawings and documentation.
• Work collaboratively across engineering, quality, and operations teams.
• Operate within timeline-driven project environments.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience in new product development.
• Experience in engineering calculations and design analysis.
• Familiarity with PDM and 3DX systems.

• Experience in plastics manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
• Product-focused engineering experience.
• Ability to influence design standards and product development processes.
• Comfortable moving between concept development, engineering calculations, and project execution.

The role is set in an engineering and R&D environment, featuring cross-functional collaboration. It combines product development, CAD, and project execution tasks. The position offers onsite access to engineering leadership in a fast-paced development and support setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Old Saybrook, CT.

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $44.00/hr.
