Senior Tax Accountant

Senior Tax Accountant | Houston, TX (On-Site) | West/Central HoustonA rapidly growing technology-enabled services organization is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its finance and accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work across a complex, multi-entity environment while gaining exposure to federal, state, and local tax matters in a dynamic and fast-paced business. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys balancing compliance, research, analysis, and process improvement while partnering with accounting and leadership teams across the organization.Key Responsibilities • Support federal, state, and local tax compliance, filings, and reporting activities• Research and interpret tax regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and identify potential risks or opportunities• Assist with tax provision calculations, audits, notices, and inquiries from taxing authorities• Prepare and analyze financial and tax data to support management reporting and business decisions• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate tax treatment and reporting across multiple entities• Monitor tax law changes and assess operational and financial impacts• Support process improvement initiatives and strengthen internal controls related to tax compliance• Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assignedDesired Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field from an accredited U.S. college or university• CPA preferred; MST or additional tax specialization is a plus but not required• 5-10+ years of progressive tax and accounting experience• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements• Experience working in a multi-entity environment preferred• Public accounting experience, industry tax experience, or a combination of both highly valued• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with tax and accounting systemsWhat Our Client Is Looking For • Stable career progression and strong tenure history• Demonstrated success in fast-paced, evolving business environments• Experience supporting technology, telecommunications, software, logistics, distribution, or similar industries is a plus• Strong verbal and written English communication skills• Bilingual skillset a plus but not required - Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese preferred• Ability and willingness to work full-time in-office in HoustonThis is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization where your expertise will have direct visibility and impact on the business.
