Heavy Equipment Field Technician / Mechanic

Foley Equipment, an authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and Northwest Missouri, is hiring an Equipment Field Technician to troubleshoot, service, and repair heavy machinery at customer work sites. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems. Make recommendations for repairs, perform critical repairs, and adjust components. Work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and be available for after-hours calls. Perform required DOT inspections to ensure the service truck is in proper, safe working order. Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments. Develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers. Travel for training and/or to assist at other locations. Physical & Working Requirements Hands‑on mechanical work in a shop environment. Lift components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance. Lift, carry, and lower components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance. Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials. Climb on and off equipment and work at varying heights. Stand, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods. Safely operate tools and equipment. Our Ideal Candidate Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics. Class A CDL required, or ability to obtain CDL within three months of start date. General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments. Ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, and related publications. Valid CDL license. What Will Put You Ahead Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry, specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment. Stable work history. Class A CDL. Ability to foster positive relationships internally and externally.
