We are seeking a dedicated Radiology Technologist to become part of our urgent care team. In this role, you will engage in both clinical and administrative tasks within our healthcare settings, adhering to established policies and procedures.

As a Radiology Technologist, your responsibilities will include working under the guidance of a physician to conduct patient intake, follow standing orders or protocols, perform venipuncture, conduct laboratory tests, and follow up with patients. You will also be responsible for administering medications—oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal—upon receiving orders from a provider, after demonstrating your competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or their designee. Additionally, certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) will perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images, ensuring proper documentation in medical records to facilitate optimal patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Willingness to work at various locations within the organization to fulfill all duties across multiple sites.
• Comply with our Code of Conduct and Compliance plan, adhering to governmental and accreditation standards. Complete all required training, including safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, and service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and patient rooms to ensure a safe environment for care delivery.

• Adapt to new technologies and utilize the electronic health record effectively. Manage patient flow through consistent communication with patients and their families, prioritizing their comfort and time. Conduct additional testing and care in line with our practices, including spirometry/PFTs, measuring patient vitals and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under the supervision of a medical provider. Follow up with patients regarding lab tests, experiences, and clinical results in a professional manner.

• Perform venipuncture and selected laboratory tests (point of care); initiate care pathways as per policy. Conduct X-rays based on medical provider orders, forwarding images to the appropriate radiologist for review, while ensuring the maintenance of X-ray equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Foster a respectful atmosphere towards patients, families, vendors, and colleagues, maintaining professional communication.

• Deliver care that aligns with our mission, vision, and values, fostering patient confidence and loyalty by exceeding expectations. Act as a patient escort throughout their care journey and assist in discharges, ensuring clarity for patients and their families. Support new clinical and service initiatives, actively seeking opportunities to enhance care and the patient experience.

• Assist team members during periods of downtime or bottlenecks in patient processing. Demonstrate basic computer skills and patient intake procedures at the front desk. Support medical providers in patient examinations, testing, and education. Under the supervision of a medical provider, prepare and administer oral medications and injections (limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular) after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or their designee.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Externship experience in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in a medical office.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Certification.
• State License from Maryland, Virginia, or DC.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from USD $29.73 to USD $53.49.
