• No weekend coverage required

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide pharmacy leadership and serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and Pharmacy Consultant during an interim assignment. This position requires a strong leader with acute care hospital experience who can oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare the department for an upcoming Joint Commission survey.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the pharmacy department.
• Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and Pharmacy Consultant.
• Lead pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
• Prepare the department for Joint Commission (TJC) survey readiness.
• Oversee pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Support 340B program compliance and related initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Participate in sterile compounding oversight (technicians primarily perform compounding).
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and limited staffing coverage as needed.
• Utilize the electronic pharmacy management system (training provided).

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida Pharmacist License (Required)
• Active Florida Consultant Pharmacist License (Required)
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience
• Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience with sterile IV medications and compounding
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission (TJC) standards and survey preparation
• Experience with pharmacy operations, policy development, and regulatory compliance
• Experience with 340B programs is preferred

• Onsite training will be provided.

• This assignment will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired.
