General Function The Personal Banker II position will provide an exceptional customer experience by building and maintaining long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. The banker will help customers understand and address their financial needs, providing solutions across the customer lifecycle using a consultative sales and service process. Accountable for risk, the banker will identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks in accordance with the Bank’s risk appetite while ensuring the right actions for customers and colleagues. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach efforts in person, over the phone, or other channels as appropriate. Use a consultative approach to uncover and identify customer needs, tailoring recommendations and solutions. Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and related financial information to ensure appropriate solutions that align with their needs. Provide customer support needed to reinforce the value of current and new technology. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies, modeling ethical behavior expected from every employee. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of customer service experience, or a college degree or equivalent military experience. Experience in a sales environment is required; experience in the financial industry is a plus. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships. Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication. Ability to analyze credit and financial information. Exhibits business acumen. Demonstrated sound decision‑making ability. Position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). See NMLS website for MU4R questions and registration requirements. Working Conditions Normal office environment. Extended computer screen viewing. Periodic travel within the Bancorp footprint to attend meetings and/or training. Salary, Benefits, and Location Location: San Diego, California 92126. Total Base Pay Range: 44,300.00 - 73,000.00 USD annual. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
