About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Active registered nursing license Certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training Must-Have: - Charge experience - Labor and delivery experience including the ability to labor and recover the mother - Ability to receive and transition the newborn including assessment - Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other potential OB emergencies - Advanced skills in fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions Description: Number of Beds: LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, 1 OR suite Patient Ratios: 1:1 active labors, inductions, C-sections, couplet care 1:3 for newborns until stable, NICU 1:3 intermediate care, with 2 NICU nurses in the unit if needed No techs or unit secretaries available Type of equipment includes central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps Documentation system is Meditech and CPN Full-time schedule requires 3 shifts per week, rotating weekend and holidays Floating policy allows regular staff to float anywhere within the facility as needed Daily safety rounding on all patients is required Certifications include Joint Commission and Level II Trauma and NICU Advanced procedures performed on the unit include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries The unit has 6 seasoned, experienced nurses averaging 30 years of experience each, providing great resources and preceptorship Several other nurses have been here for 7-10 years, bringing a wealth of experience and competence The unit functions as a strong team and emphasizes collaboration This is a great opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care
