Senior Transportation Engineer

Job Summary A stable public sector transportation department is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead and support roadway, drainage, safety, and transportation infrastructure projects in South Florida. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a Florida licensed Professional Engineer with strong civil transportation experience and a hands‑on background in rural roadway design, drainage systems, traffic engineering, and infrastructure planning. The role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful long‑term roadway and transportation improvements that support community mobility, safety, and infrastructure resilience. Key Responsibilities Design and review rural roadway plans, including alignments, drainage improvements, safety enhancements, and constructability considerations. Lead transportation planning efforts, including corridor studies, routing analysis, traffic review, and long‑range infrastructure planning. Review traffic studies, engineering reports, construction documents, design submittals, and consultant deliverables for accuracy and compliance. Provide technical oversight of consultants and internal engineering staff to ensure projects meet applicable FDOT, BIA, and government standards. Develop project cost estimates, support construction scheduling, and assist with capital improvement planning. Coordinate with internal teams, agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders to advance transportation infrastructure initiatives. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $100,000 to $145,000 per year, depending on experience. Higher compensation may be considered for strong candidates. Direct hire, full‑time position. Onsite role in Hollywood, FL. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Opportunity to work on long‑term public infrastructure and roadway projects.
