ELD Teacher Secondary Position: ELD Teacher Secondary – Mt. Angel School District 091 – Mount Angel, Oregon. 2026-2027 school year. 1.0 FTE. Salary Range: $53,780 - $99,641. Contract Days: 193. Benefits include district‑paid premiums for medical and dental HSA‑compliant plans, an annual $2,000 HSA contribution, and a 2% differential for proficiency in Spanish. Job Summary Work closely with school and district staff, data teams and district leadership to develop, implement and sustain K‑12 English Language Development. Responsibilities Instructional Service / Planning & Preparation Develop appropriate lesson plans and instructional techniques in the English language. Assist in the development and implementation of intervention programs. Demonstrate the use of effective instructional strategies. Provide support to general education teachers for lesson planning, instructional strategies, effective use of standards, and backward planning. Link classroom teachers to resources and services. Identify and implement classroom improvement programs to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes. Support effective instructional practices, appropriate curriculum, and student assessment procedures. Model effective teaching, management, and communication practices. Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for instructional units. Diagnose students' needs and prescribe appropriate learning activities. Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/standards to meet student needs. Professional Development Satisfactorily perform teaching responsibilities and continually evaluate professional performance using district guidelines. Seek help and advice, demonstrating professional growth and needed improvement. Maintain knowledge and practice in instructional skills and strategies. Demonstrate subject matter knowledge, pursue professional growth, improve classroom instruction, and qualify for license renewal according to state and district regulations. Participate in regular consultations with district mentors to share research‑based ideas and strategies. Support the implementation of workshops, courses, and training opportunities for effective intervention strategies. Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required. Data & Assessment Participate as a member of the school data/PLC teams. Identify, gather, interpret, and disseminate data relevant to student learning. Help implement shared decision‑making at the school. Support the coordination of assessment administration as directed. Consult with classroom teacher on appropriate use of assessments and analysis of student learning data. Evaluate student growth periodically and develop instructional plans for the future. Case Management Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with student, staff, and parent information. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law and policy. Ensure timely completion of tasks related to ELPA21 assessment, student monitoring, and file curation. Attend relevant IEP meetings for dual‑identified multilingual learners. General Professionalism Support and contribute to the implementation of the school improvement program. Demonstrate effective communication and problem‑solving skills. Act as a role model for students in moral character and behavior. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community. Operate in environments that may be physically or emotionally demanding; meet job’s physical requirements. Build leadership capacity through modeling professionalism, collegiality, communication, and conflict management. Maintain open lines of communication regarding academic and behavioral progress of assigned students. Cooperate with staff in planning district curriculum and instructional methods. Take precautions to safeguard health and safety of students and protect school resources. Represent the school and district professionally in community interactions. Adhere to federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Attend work regularly and promptly. Qualifications Valid Oregon teaching license. ESOL endorsement. Proficient Spanish speaker preferred. Experience teaching newcomers K‑12 preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Benefits District‑paid premium for medical and dental HSA‑compliant plans, annual $2,000 HSA contribution for full‑time employees, 2% differential for Spanish proficiency, and other standard school district benefits.
