Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Site Manager

Location: Belle Mead, NJ
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

CMI is seeking an experienced EHS Site Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs at a manufacturing facility in Belle Mead, NJ. This hands-on leadership role will drive regulatory compliance, risk reduction, injury prevention, environmental performance, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with site leadership and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve site EHS programs and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Conduct facility inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and risk assessments.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Manage environmental programs, including waste, stormwater, wastewater, air emissions, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and manage contractor safety programs.
• Maintain required permits, records, regulatory submissions, and EHS documentation.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Track and communicate EHS metrics, trends, and performance.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and other site functions to strengthen safety culture and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 7-10 years of EHS experience, including at least 3 years in an EHS leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulatory requirements.
• Manufacturing or industrial EHS experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
• CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or similar professional EHS certification preferred.
