About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its independent nonprofit organization. The CEO will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction, overseeing day-to-day operations, and building on the organization's strong foundation. This pivotal role requires a leader who can stabilize the organization, protect and grow revenue, and expand its reach while maintaining a commitment to scientific rigor and educational quality. The ideal candidate will have a background in nonprofit leadership, association management, or a related field, and will be adept at managing operations, budgets, and staff in a small to mid-sized environment. While clinical veterinary expertise is not mandatory, the CEO must be able to earn the trust of a diverse range of stakeholders, including veterinary professionals, researchers, and industry partners. Key responsibilities for the CEO include leading the development and execution of organizational strategy, maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization. The successful candidate will be a relationship-oriented, empathetic, and accountable leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to the mission of improving lifesaving care for animals. They should be prepared to work closely with the Board of Directors, support governance development, and lead a small, dedicated team through the next phase of growth.
