About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Observation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an emergency or observation setting License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS PALS Must-Have Skills: Telemetry & Dysrhythmia Management PCU/Stepdown Care IV Insulin & Heparin Protocols Renal Failure Management Cardiac & Vasoactive Drips (including titration) Blood Product Administration Tracheostomy Management Rapid Response Team Utilization Wound Care/Wound Vac Non-Invasive Airway Management (CPAP/BIPAP, Oxygen) EPIC Documentation Description: Patient age groups include pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Experience in a fast-paced emergency or observation environment is required. Staffing ratios are 1:4. Candidates must have substantial experience with telemetry and managing dysrhythmias. Must be skilled in administering IV insulin and heparin protocols. Experience with renal failure management and cardiac vasoactive drips is necessary. Candidates should be proficient in blood product administration and tracheostomy care. Utilization of rapid response teams is essential. Experience in wound care and managing wound vacs is required. Non-invasive airway management, including the use of CPAP/BIPAP and oxygen, is necessary. Familiarity with EPIC documentation is a plus. Candidates must have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to respond rapidly to patient needs. Team collaboration and communication skills are crucial in this environment. Understanding of various patient diagnoses and the ability to provide appropriate care is expected. Ability to work night shifts, including weekends, as needed.
