Job Summary Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. May float to all Sarasota Memorial Health Care System hospital campuses. Patient Population & Key Responsibilities Orthopedic & Trauma Care – Fractures, orthopedic abnormalities requiring surgical intervention, traction application, splinting, and skeletal immobilization. Neurological Care – Acute Traumatic Brain Injuries with potential ventriculostomy management. Cardiac Care – Titration of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, etc.). Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM – Positions available! Salary Details Hourly rate is based on years of experience, education level, and internal equity. Minimum rate starts at $32.50; maximum rate is $51.00. In addition, candidates holding an approved certification qualify for certification pay of $1.50 per hour. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045). Two (2) years of relevant work experience. Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within thirty (30) days of hire. Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications. Preferred Qualifications Certification in nursing specialty area. Preferred Education BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing. Required License And Certs BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR. FL RN: Florida Registered Nurse License. Compensation & Benefits Ultimate Float Team premium: $7 per hour. Weekend & night shift differentials.
