Housekeeping Inspector (Westin/Solea)Grand Pacific Hotel Services LP - Carlsbad, CA 92008OverviewSalary Range $20.00 - $21.50 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift VariedDescriptionProvide supervision, coaching, counseling and training to room attendants and house attendants. Work with Room Attendants to educate them on the ABC's of Housekeeping to ensure consistency. Ensure the prompt return of clean rooms to reception for resale to incoming guests. Inspect guest rooms and public areas for compliance with established cleanliness, maintenance and set-up standards. Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and conditions of the hotel guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction. Quality will be measured via Management Room Inspections, Guest Satisfaction Surveys (Cleanliness of Guest Rooms) and bi-annual Quality Assurance Audit - LRA.Essential Functions60% Inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, turndown service; SOPs and health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.Work with Room Attendants to ensure daily calendar tasks are completed.In the event that rooms do not meet quality standards room attendant should be sent back to correct any issues and room will not be released until it meets standards of cleanliness and brand requirements.Ensuring Guest Requests and Special Comments are metInspect Maids carts and closets to insure that they are properly stocked.Ensure VIP'S and spg members rooms are ready and inspected by 1pmEnsure Daily show rooms are ready by noonPerformed daily audits to ensured Solea quality standards are consistently met20% Work with houseman to maintain cleanliness of glass doors and windows through the assigned buildingEnsure cleanliness of all trash chute rooms by delegating daily assigned work to housemanMaintain cleanliness of Vending /Ice roomMaintain cleanliness of hallways of Hotel and stairwells (Vacuum/carpet exaction)Maintain cleanliness of all hallway lamps, i.e., sconces and ceiling lampMaintain cleanliness of elevatorsMaintain cleanliness of hallway telephone and furnish with supplySupport Room Attendant by cleaning and stripping guest rooms as neededCommunicate with the Front Office Supervisor of "hung" roomsFill out work order tickets as needed and ensuring unacceptable rooms are not released back to inventory until items are addressedEnsure lines of communication are open with the Housemen5% Perform Guest Request throughout day –ensuring open tickets and guest requests are completed/closed.5% Ensure work area is clean when finished5% Responsible for being knowledgeable about hotel groups and events and modifying room amenities/supplies as necessary.5% Maintain at all times a neat and clean professional appearanceOther:Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.QualificationsQualification StandardsEducationHigh school or equivalent education required.ExperiencePrior hospitality supervisory or commercial housekeeping experience desired.Licenses or Certificates Valid California Drivers License required.
